SHILLONG: Mawkynrew Constituency MDC, Banteidor Lyngdoh held a public meeting on Thursday to distribute the schemes sanctioned by the KHADC which amounts to Rs 3 crore.
In a press communiqué, he said that some developmental schemes received by the people are for repairing Community Hall, footpath, walls, drains, playground, village roads and schools.
He has distributed the work order of different schemes in the public meeting held at Church of God LP & UP School, Thangsning.
The KHADC was granted Special Assistance Grant, of Rs 133 crore from the Central Government allocating each MDC a scheme of Rs 3 crore each. “Clean Politics started from Nongkrem and it gets better when there is transparency in the distribution of schemes,” Lyngdoh said. Lyngdoh informed that the scheme is not an individual scheme but for the development of the constituency.
Pointing to the 2018 elections, he sought that the support of the public for the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly elections. “If I am elected (as MLA in the 2018 elections), I will not contest for MDC-2019.”
