CM-level border meet preponed to Saturday

First meeting between Mukul and Sarbananda

SHILLONG: The chief ministerial level inter-state border meeting has been preponed to Saturday.
This will be the first meeting between Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and his Assam counterpart Sarbananda Sonowal after a gap of seven years.
Earlier, the meeting was scheduled for Monday.
Border Area Development Minister Prestone Tynsong, who will be part of the delegation, said on Thursday that the meeting will be held at Administrative Staff College at Khanapara at 11 am.
The chief minister-led delegation will comprise Deputy Chief Minister R.C Laloo, former chief minister D.D Lapang, Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh, Law Minister Roshan Warjri and Chief Secretary K.S Kropha, among others.
The meeting will discuss the need to set up a Central boundary commission and resolve the 12 areas of difference, an official said.
