TURA: After a loss of face in the GHADC, the NPP whisked away all its members of the District Council (MDCs) to Guwahati where party president Conrad K. Sangma is likely to meet the Governor to apprise him of the political developments in the autonomous body.
The eight MDCs left Tura on Thursday afternoon. Conrad accompanied the delegation to the neighbouring state.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, Conrad said he, along with his MDCs, would soon meet Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit, who holds additional charge of Meghalaya.
“We will meet the governor and I can assure you that everything will be sorted out soon,” said the Tura MP while refusing to divulge further detail on the movement of his elected MDCs.
