SHILLONG: Chief Secretary K.S Kropha, who is also the State Vigilance Commissioner, is examining the complaint lodged against West Shillong legislator Paul Lyngdoh about the alleged misappropriation of the MLA scheme.
Usually, cases referred by the State Vigilance Commissioner are probed by the Anti-Corruption Branch under the State CID and monitored by the chief secretary as head of the State Vigilance Commission.
After former supporters of the legislator lodged a complaint with the chief secretary, the legislator had filed a counter complaint.
Later, the anti-Paul group came up with more allegations against the legislator.
The Vigilance Commission can order an inquiry into any complaint or corruption or misconduct on the part of a public servant. It may also formulate proposals for the prevention and control of corruption.
