Extension of social security benefits to retired teachers; enhancement of retirement age as per UGC norms; extension of other allowances (House rent, Medical, Winter and Hill Compensatory Allowance) which were taken away from the teachers earlier and Uniform implementation of revised rates of DCRG benefits from the date of implementation of revised pay scales were the issues discussed in the meeting.
MRCTA is hopeful that the Commission will act positively and forward appropriate recommendations for the benefit of senior citizens in the State.
The association also expressed its gratitude to the Commission for according importance and due recognition to MRCTA.
