Extortion demand to bank staff in Garo Hills

SHILLONG: Unidentified miscreants have demanded Rs 20 lakh from the branch manager and staff of the Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd. in Tikrikilla in West Garo Hills.
Abul Kasem Sikh, branch manager of the bank, lodged a complaint that on March 28 he received an SMS, wherein the unknown sender demanded Rs. 20 lakh from him and his staff and also threatened them with dire consequences.
