SHILLONG: Police are on the hunt for GNLA commander in chief Sohan D. Shira and ULFA leader Drishti Rajkhowa, who are camping together somewhere in Garo Hills.
A senior police official said on Friday that the duo are currently camping in Garo Hills and have not gone to Bangladesh recently.
The official added that their movement is on the stretch of South Garo Hills, bordering West Khasi Hills and East Garo Hills.
There is pressure from the security forces in the State against the militants in Garo Hills.
Police, however, are finding it difficult to zero in on the GNLA-ULFA leaders due to the difficult terrain and lack of proper mobile connectivity.
