SHILLONG: A 35-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl in North Garo Hills.
Police said the incident happened around 6.30pm on March 31. The accused, Ronick M. Sangma, allegedly raped the minor at his rented house at Dainadubi.The police arrested him based on complaint.
In another incident, a 19-year-old girl lodged a complaint that on March 23, one Teiborlang Khongsngi (24) and a 15-year-old boy attempted to rape her and threatened her at Jalynteng village in East Khasi Hills. The incident happened at around 10 am while she was with her two-year-old child at home. Police arrested the accused.
