SHILLONG: The People’s Democratic Front (PDF) said on Monday members of other organisations or parties have hinted at joining the newly launched party but nothing has been finalised.
PDF working president Emlang Lytan said the party can have a clear picture of its membership boost only by the second week of May. Lytan, however, added that none of the members of the district councils have approached them but whoever wants to join PDF is “most welcome”.
There are speculations about MDCs Latiplang Kharkongor and James Ban Basaiawmoit joining the party.
Lytan, who is in charge of Shillong area, said, “Till date they have not spoken to us officially other than the statement in media reports.”
“Everything will be clearer in the second week of May as to who are the MDCs l joining the party,” he added.
PDF has members from political organisations as well as NGOs and the party has already started expanding at the district-level.
