Free mobile cancer screening camp underway in Ri Bhoi

NONGPOH: A free mobile cancer screening, detection & awareness camp is being organised by Purbottar Pradeshiya Marwari Yuva Manch in collaboration with All India Marwari Yuva Manch, and sponsored by Nezone Group of Industries, at Indoor Stadium, Saiden Village, Nongpoh.
The two-day camp (April 11-12) is the first of its kind organised in Meghalaya.
The camp was inaugurated Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner C. P. Gotmare in the presence of Nezone Group of Industries director Subhash Agarwal, and provincial president, Purbottar Pradeshiya Marwari Yuva Manch, North Eastern Region, Ritesh Khattar.
The Purbottar Pradeshiya Marwari Yuva Manch has organized 26 such cancer awareness & detection camps in various places in the North East. Its objective is to increase social awareness about cancer, its causes, prevention and treatment in the region, especially in rural areas.
The camp will be held in Byrnihat on April 13.
