Two die in separate road accidents

SHILLONG: Two persons died in separate road accidents in the State on Sunday.On Sunday, around 6.30 pm, one unknown vehicle knocked down a woman identified as Thibin Warkon (45) at Lumbyrhing, Pahamrioh in Ri Bhoi. The victim sustained sustained injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS where she succumbed to her injuries.
In another accident on the same day, one motorcycle (AS-18-6038) collided with a truck (AS-01QC-9322) at Samanda Bazar in East Garo Hills. In the incident, one occupant Balen N Sangma died on the spot, while another occupant sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Williamnagar. The driver of the truck fled away after the incident.

Juvenile sold into bonded labour
SHILLONG: A juvenile from the State along with two other boys were “sold into bonded labour” in Mysore, Karnataka.Brenath M Sangma lodged a complaint that in August 2016, one Sanjit M Sangma took his son Jackeus C Marak (17) along with two other boys to work in a tea stall in Mysore and sold them into bonded labour.

Man murdered
SHILLONG: Nithine Sangma of Rongjeng Reserve (EGH) lodged a complaint that on April 7, unknown miscreants murdered one Sebastian R Sangma (26) and left the body on the road near Veterinary Office, Rongjeng in East Garo Hills.

4-yr-old raped
SHILLONG: Police arrested one Rijid Sohsten (48) for allegedly raping a four-year-old girl at Shillong By-Pass. In another case, a woman lodged a complaint that on April 8 noon, one Nidhu Bormon (22) raped her six-year-old daughter at his residence.

Woman ‘commits suicide’ in EKH village
SHILLONG: A woman in an undisclosed village in East Khasi Hills committed suicide in her house following which the body was buried by the relatives of the victim.
According to the police, the incident happened on April 10.
Meanwhile, a medical officer at Diengpasoh PHC stated that the deceased had once approached him for abortion.
