Dry day
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills has declared April 14 as Dry Day in the district on account of “Good Friday”. All bonded warehouses, IMFL shops, bars, hotels etc., will remain closed on the day. The deputy commissioners of West Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills have also declared April 14 as Dry Day.
Blood camp
A voluntary blood donation camp was organised by the Indian Red Cross Society and the District Police at the Lady Kerr Welfare Centre, Laban on April 11. The camp was organised in collaboration with Meghalaya AIDS Control Society and State Blood Transfusion Council. East Khasi Hills SP Davis N R Marak, SP (City) Vivek Syiem and in charge Sadar Police Station, D K Prasad also participated in the camp.
Drawing competition
The Mother’s School, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture, will organise its annual drawing & colouring competition for pre-nursery to class V students on April 29. The last date for registration is April 24.
