SHILLONG: After the evening rain due to depression in the Bay of Bengal on Saturday, thundershower is likely to occur on Sunday in most places in Arunachal Pradesh, in a few places in Assam and Meghalaya and in isolated areas in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, according to the India Meteorological Department, Guwahati.
According to the IMD-Guwahati data, thunder squall with wind speed reaching 50 KMPH is likely to occur in isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya on Sunday and Monday and in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura for three days from Sunday.
As per the weather assessment on Saturday, the deep depression over east central Bay of Bengal moved further northeastwards with a speed of 28 KMPH in the past six hours.) “The system is most likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours. It is most likely to move north-northeastwards and cross Myanmar coast between Sittwe and Sandoway (Myanmar) by morning of April 17,” the report said.
