SHILLONG: The income tax office has served notices to many legislators, including ministers, to disclose the source of their income.
A source said on Monday that notices were served since it was seen that there is an increase in both movable and immovable assets of the legislators in 2013 from 2008 as shown in their affidavits filed prior to the Assembly polls.
The source added that after the month-long exercise, many legislators have replied and provided supportive documents regarding the query while a few others have sought more time.
