Passenger dies after jumping from running bus
SHILLONG: One person succumbed to his injuries after he jumped from a running bus at 20th Mile, Byrnihat. The mishap occurred on April 19 evening when Manigopal Roy jumped from a running bus (AS-01BC-8979) driven by Sukhen Debnath (45) at 20th Mile, Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi. The victim was shifted to Civil Hospital Nongpoh where he succumbed to his injuries.
Relative rapes minor girls
SHILLONG: Two minor girls were allegedly raped by a man in Ri Bhoi since 2013. A woman lodged a complaint that her brother-in-law, Wanbha Mawroh raped her two minor daughters aged 12 years and 7 years respectively, at a village under Umroi since 2013.
Over Rs 2 lakh misappropriated
SHILLONG: A. Nongbri, , BDO, C&RD Block, Mawkyrwat lodged a complaint that one Taiwell Sangriang had misappropriated Rs. 2,01,225 which was meant for fencing of an ancient alter at Perkhlaw Nonglyngkien village.
