SHILLONG: Two minor girls were raped in separate incidents in West Garo Hills recently.
In a delayed report, a 15- year-old-minor girl was raped by a minor boy of the same age on April 12 in a village at Phulbari, West Garo Hills.
As per the FIR, though the villagers along with the mother of the victim wanted both the victim and the accused to get married, the demand of the boy for dowry (an auto-rickshaw) has delayed the plan.
Moreover, the father of the boy objected to the move.A case was registered.
In another incident, a 14- year-old girl was raped by a 17 year old boy from Chibinang under Phulbari on April 14. The accused was arrested later.
