TURA: The non-gazetted employees of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) will hold an election on April 27 to elect new leaders of the employees’ union. The GHADC employees, numbering several hundred, have not been paid their salaries for the last 10 months and with the NPP-led executive committee having fallen last month, the council is being administered directly by the State Government through deputy commissioner of South West Garo Hills C V D Diengdoh.
The previous executive body of the employees’ union had stepped down leading to an interim body taking charge which now stands to get dissolved as the employees directly elect their new committee.
