MAWKYRWAT/SHILLONG: Police in Mawkyrwat have arrested a person for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl on two occasions. Acting on a complaint filed by the mother of the victim, Mawkyrwat Police rushed to Mawten village and arrested the accused Teibor Lyngdoh (31).
As per the FIR, the girl was raped twice, first on April 18 at Pyndenmawlieh and at Mawkyrwat market later on. The accused has been booked under POCSO and forwarded to the court.
