1 dies in NH-44 accident

SHILLONG: A boy was killed in one of the two road accidents, which occurred in less than 24 hours on NH-44 in East Khasi Hills.
The boy, a minor, was knocked down by a truck on NH-44 at Wapungshnong around 5pm on April 22, police said.
In another incident, a BSF constable was injured when the border security bus he was travelling in collided with a truck on the same highway at Umtyra village in the district around 8am on April 23.The injured man, identified as P. Shashi, is being treated at CHC Khliehriat. The driver was another constable of the force, Bima Shankar.
