Man held for rape attempt on daughter

TURA: A 36-year-old man has been arrested for attempting to rape his 14-year-old daughter in West Garo Hills.
Polices said the accused, Vincent S. Sangma alias Benson, allegedly attempted to rape her minor daughter in an inebriated state at their residence at Dobasipara Songgital on Monday night.
The girl managed to fight him off and locked herself in a room. Later, she managed to alert her aunts and relatives who rescued her the next morning.
The relatives handed Vincent over to the police.
In another incident, police arrested Teibor Lyngdoh for allegedly raping a 16 year old girl twice on April 18.
Lyngdoh was arrested after an FIR was filed by the father of the survivor.
