Inter School Cricket: SCA enters semi-finals

SHILLONG: Shillong Cricket Academy entered the semi-finals of the U-18 level Inter School Cricket Tournament 2017 defeating St. Nanak Secondary School by a huge margin of 146 runs here on Friday. Electing to bat first, SCA scored 200/8 in 25 overs with a handsome contribution of 66 runs by Ashif Khan and 41 runs from the bat of Ashit Baruah. Aman Tamang claimed 3 wickets for St. Nanak. In reply, St. Nanak were bowled out for 54 runs in 13.4 overs. Ranjeet thakur scored 19 runs while Aryan Borah claimed 6 wickets for SCA.

2nd YMCA Invitational Basketball tourney

Shillong: The Rural Basketball Tournament organised by the Shillong YMCA in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports, will conclude with the semi-final and final matches to be played on Saturday. Pomlum Secondary School will lock horns with Presbyterian HS School, Mylliem while District Christian Multi Purpose Secondary School Mawngap will clash against Raid Sadew Laitjem Secondary School in the semi-finals to be played at the Mylliem Presbyterian School Complex. Altogether eight schools took part in the tournament.

Nongthymmai blank Nongkrem 3-0 in U-15 SSA Football

SHILLONG: Nongthymmai defeated Nongkrem 3-0 in a league match of the U-15 SSA Football tournament here on Friday. GPD Nongrum (23′), RM Khriem (40′) and PK Nongkhlaw (63′) scored for the victorious team. In Saturday’s fixture, RUFC will play against Mawshbuit. The match will be played at 3:45pm.
