Minor minerals illegally extracted

SHILLONG: A joint team of West Garo Hills District Administration and the Forest Department found illegally extracted minor minerals which were deposited in many places from Bena Bazar to Hallidayganj. Acting on inputs, on April 27, a joint survey and inspection was conducted by the District Administration and Forest Department officials in the forest and adjoining areas of Garobadha, Hallidayganj etc. During the inspection it was founbd that the illegally extracted minor minerals were deposited in many places from Bena Bazar to Hallidayganj. It was also learnt that Nokku Sheikh and Isan Ali along with 13 others had allegedly extracted minor minerals, transported and deposited them in Assam and Meghalaya side.
