SHILLONG: The South West Khasi Hills unit of the All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers’ Association (AMSSASTA) has urged school managing committees to start payment of salary through personal bank accounts.
In a statement issued on Friday, AMSSASTA-SWKH stated that it has sent a letter to the State Project Director (SPD), Ambrose Marak, on May 1 urging him to look into the issue.
Meanwhile, there are allegations that names of SSA teachers’ were removed from the Unified District Information System and school managing committees (SMCs) have instead registered the names of their relatives who are allegedly underage and under-qualified. In this connection, AMSSASTA-SWKH has urged SMCs not to adopt nepotism and take into consideration the SSA teachers who have for a long time earned their living through teaching.
