Storm damages homes in SGH

TURA: A thunderstorm that lashed the Garo Hills region early Friday morning uprooted trees and damaged homes in the Mindikgre area of South Garo Hills District.
The storm damaged three homes in Rompa A’sim village, six houses in Baladanggre, three each in Chramgre and Lower Do’sogre villages of Mindikgre, informed locals from the area.
While some of the homes had their roofs blown away others were brought down by the velocity of the winds.
Tura town and adjoining areas experienced a hailstorm on the same morning with CGI roofings suffering some damage.
The exact extent of the damage caused by the strom is yet to be ascertained by the district authorities.
