Guv lauds services of Red Cross Society

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Monday lauded the Red Cross Society for its services and called upon people to extend their support to the Society in its quest to serve mankind.
Speaking at the World Red Cross Day function at the Raj Bhavan here on Monday, the Governor, who is also the president of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) (Meghalaya branch), also appealed the citizens of the State to join the Red Cross Society and serve the needy.
Earlier, the Governor released the Red Cross Flag and distributed Life Membership Certificates to the Red Cross members.
The programme was organized by IRCS, Meghalaya State Branch under the theme, ‘Everywhere for everyone’.
Health Minister Roshan Warjri, who is the Vice President of the Society, handed over trophies to the principals and headmistresses of various schools and distributed appreciation certificates to various organisations, civil Societies and stakeholders on the occasion.
