SHILLONG: After ‘the goof by the local Dorbar Shnong’, police have now allegedly let the Umkadhor rape victim down by questioning her for the inordinate delay in filing complaint.
The cops at Nongpoh police Station have been accused of condemning the victim, who was raped by one Tuesday Syngkli in 2015, for the delay in filing the FIR.
It may be mentioned that the girl had approached the local traditional heads after being allegedly raped by Syngkli but the village heads shielded the rapist instead of following the legal course of action.
Expecting no support from the Dorbar Shnong, the victim and her family approached the Nongpoh police station on May 3.Police arrested Syngkli on Saturday.
