SHILLONG: Perturbed at the rising crime against women and children, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has urged the Government to take punitive action against perpetrators of such crime.
The statement comes in the wake of the murder of a seven-year-old girl by her uncle in West Khasi Hills.
BJYM, which said there is no security for women in the State, expressed surprise that the Government is not taking any step to tackle such crime.
It called for the co-operation of NGOs, religious organisations and Dorbar Shnong to curb the menace.
