SRH beat GL by 8 wickets to qualify for IPL play-offs

Kanpur, May 13 (UNI) Skipper David Warner (69) and Vijay Shankar (63) unbeaten half centuries helped Sunrisers Hyderabad win by eight wickets in the IPL10 against Gujarat Lions becoming the second team after Mumbai Indians to qualify for the play-offs at the Green Park stadium here this evening. From 14 matches this is Hyderabad’s eight win and they have collected 17 points on the table placed at 2nd spot thus sealing their berth for the play-offs. Gujarat Lions who are already out of play-offs race from 14 matches this is their 10th loss with 8 points is at 7th spot on the chart table. Chasing a target of 155 runs set by GL, SRH lost Shikhar Dhawan (18) and Henriques (4) when score read at 25. Dhawan’s 18 came off in 11 deliveries hitting 4 fours but after that skipper David Warner (67) and Vijay Shankar (63) remained unbeaten and added 133 runs for the third wicket partnership guiding their team towards victory and sealing their berth for the play-offs. Warner’s 69 off 52 deliveries hit 9 fours. In the IPL10 this was Warners third half century, and in this edition of IPL10 the skipper completed 600 runs.
