TURA: Lok Sabha MP Conrad K. Sangma is visiting Japan as part of a delegation of Indian parliamentarians under the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce’s India-Japan Forum.
The five-day visit, which began on Monday, will cover the two cities of Tokyo and Nagoya and the delegation will meet Japan-India
Parliamentary Friendship Group and visit several sites connected with manufacturing units and vehicle recycling projects.
In a statement, the Tura MP and NPP chief said, “These sectors are areas of high focus with Japan where Japanese technology and models would be relevant for India’s plans in ‘Make in India’, renewable energy and clean technology.”
Besides Sangma, the delegation consists of BJP MP Poonam Mahajan, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda, BJP MP Prathap Sinha and BJD MP Rabindra Kumar Jena.
The delegation is also slated to call on ministers, government representatives and representatives of Japanese industry, among others, during their stay in Japan, the statement said.
