NONGSTOIN: The South West Khasi Hills district finally got a Youth Congress unit.
The district unit was formed on Saturday to strengthen the Congress in Ranikor and Mawkyrwat constituencies.
The decision to form the district youth unit was taken in 2012 but was postponed.
Comingstar Syiemlieh was elected as president, Kordorlyne Kharlyngdoh as vice president, three General Secretaries and other members were named.
The meeting was also attended by president of the District Congress Committee M. Nongrem, who is also the MDC of Ranikor, and Wallambok Syiemiong, general secretary of the District Congress in-charge Youth.
