JOWAI: There has been a split in the Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) with the former Shillong circle president of the union forming the Jaintia Students’ Union-I along with his followers.
The decision to form JSU-I was taken in a meeting on Saturday and later, on Monday office bearers were elected in a central executive committee meet.
Former JSU Shillong Circle leader, Eleazer Christopher Dkhar is the president of the JSU-I while Bantei Sari is the vice president, Lucky Phawa the general secretary.
Other office bearers were also elected.
