SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Peoples’ Committee on Aadhaar has urged Chief Minister Mukul Sangma to withhold Aadhaar enrollment in the state. In a memorandum submitted to the chief minister, P. B. M. Basaiawmoit of the Committee while expressing his reservations on Aadhaar enrolment said the process will put the exercise of putting a check on influx into jeopardy. “There must be a public hearing and informed consent must be obtained before Aadhaar enrolment is undertaken,” he said.
