Ransomware attack hits BSNL Chikkamagalur

Chikkamagalur: The WannaCry Ransomware virus has attacked computers at the BSNL office here and the demand for opening it has been hiked to USD 600 today from $ 300, according to BSNL officer K L Shivanna here. Confirming the virus attack, he said that all the documents were safe and steps are being taken to update software with the help of experts. About 10 computers were reported affected with the attack and people were warned against opening e-mails from unknown address. ATM functioning was also badly affected in the district. He said that the attacks were reported from Koppal, Kodagu and Shivamogga districts BSNL offices which also comes under this circle. (UNI)
