Reds Junior enters semis of U-15 SSA tourney

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong Junior Reds advanced to the semifinals of the U-15 SSA Football Tournament in Polo Ground on Tuesday.

The Lajong Juniors won by 3-1 in the tie breaker versus Langsning SC. Wadajied, Wanpynskhem and Pynshngain were the goal scorers for Junior Reds in the penalty shootout while Treimiki Murong scored for Langsning SC.

Lajong Juniors will play the semifinal match with either Umlyngka or Sohryngkham on May 20 in Polo Ground.

Meanwhile, in another match Rangdajied United FC beat Mawryngkneng 4-2.

R Wardkhar opened the scoring for RUFC in the 5th minute while F Synrem doubled the lead in the 14th minute.

Mawryngkneng came back strong with a 26th minute goal from S Lawai while an own goal from F Synrem made it 2-2 in the 28th minute.

E Malniang handed the lead back to RUFC in the 43rd minute. Crossing over P Kharbteng scored in the 56th minute to seal the tie in RUFC’s favour.
