Shillong: A three-day seminar on ‘Conflict Transformation and Dharma of Peace Building: Contemporary Relevance in North-East India’ concluded at Lady Keane College on Thursday.
The seminar, which was organised by the Department of Philosophy in collaboration with the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi, and the Indian Council of Social Science Research, NERC, Shillong, was a follow-up of the two-day international seminar on ‘Reconciliation, Conflict Transformation and Peace Initiatives: Contemporary Challenges in South Asia’ held earlier. The inaugural function was held on Tuesday.
The seminar was attended by a number of teachers, students and guests.
There were a total of 13 technical sessions that were held in the seminar. The first technical session was on the topic of ‘Inter-religious dialogue’. Miri chaired the second technical session, which was on the topic of ‘Politics of Peace Building in the North East’.
C. Massar, principal of Lady Keane College, said the three-day seminar was the first of its kind in the college.
