SHILLONG: Now, the Bhoirymbong CHC in Ri Bhoi will have a fitness gym, babies’ corner and children’s park among others thanks to MHIS.
Health minister Roshan Warjri on Friday inaugurated the facilities which also include herbal garden, renovated IPD, laboratory and casualty room from the MHIS generated funds of the hospital.
While dedicating the new initiatives to the public, the health minister said that these infrastructures are the outcome of the hard work and dedication of the medical officers and staff of the CHC who have rendered their service for the welfare of the public. She said that the community participation in all initiatives of the CHC has boosted the confidence of the officers and staff to make every effort to achieve ‘health for all’.
The health minister also informed that the Phase III of the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme will be rolled out soon and hoped that the coverage of this scheme will increase.
She called upon the public to take the opportunity and get themselves enrolled.
Earlier during the programme, prizes were distributed to the cleanest villages under Bhoirymbong CHC. The competition was based on the health and cleanliness activities of the villages, including vaccination coverage, institutional deliveries, immunization programmes and others.
Khweng and Liarsluid villages shared first prize, while the second and third prizes went to Umroi Madan and Mawtneng, respectively.
