Gangarampur, May 23 (UNI) Cobra venom, smuggled from Bangladesh, worth Rs 3 crore in clandestine market, was seized from an impoverished carrier in a joint raid by the BSF and forest department from Gangarampur area in South Dinajpur district of West Bengal, police said today.
The 41st Battalion of BSF and South Dinajpur forest department officials intercepting an input laid a trap and arrested one person, identified as Sudeb Tigna from Gangarampur last night.
He was carrying the venom in a glass jar.
The arrested person was taken to BSF headquarters in Raigunj, North Dinajpur for further investigation into source of smuggling from Bangladesh. UNI
