MLAs are law & policy makers, not businessmen: Syiem

JOWAI: KHADC CEM PN Syiem, who addressed a public meeting at Khliehriat West Community Hall on Monday said MLAs are law and policy makers not contractors and businessmen. Syiem was in Khliehriat to attend the public meeting organized by “Campaign for Change”, which is an organization led by a group of youths from NEHU.
Addressing the gathering, Syiem said, “We as representatives have failed in many ways to bring good and clear cut policies to safeguard the interest of the people”.
According to Syiem, the NGT ban on coal mining in the State was made possible due tp absence of proper laws.
“The problems of farmers, the increasing number of jobless educated youth, problem in the border areas are the results of the absence of proper policies,” he said.
