SHILLONG: Dylan’s Cafe will host a live music and poetry event titled ‘Dylan at 76’ to mark Bob Dylan’s 76th birthday from 6pm on Wednesday. The event will be a tribute to his music, which will feature various performers.
Meanwhile, Cafe Shillong, Laitumkhrah will host a poetry slam event at 2 pm along with an evening concert which will be held at Cloud 9, Hotel Centre Point from 8 pm onwards.
This will also be the 45th year that Lou Majaw will mark the birthday of the American music legend, with events to be held in Shillong on May 24 as well as Guwahati the following day.
Dylan’s birthday has been celebrated in Shillong since the 1970’s with tribute concerts by local musicians. The idea for such a birthday bash originated in 1972 and has become an annual tradition in Shillong.
