Trade union to take up issues of working class

SHILLONG: The members of the Indian National Trade Union Congress Meghalaya (INTUC), State Branch, in a general body meeting held at Congress Bhawan, recently discussed ways and means to strengthen the organisation at the State level. The meeting was chaired by Manash Das Gupta, general Secretary, MPCC who is also the chairman in charge Labour department of the party.
INTUC leaders and trade unions comprising central and state government organisations of Meghalaya elected the executive committee members including president, Simon Peter Dohling, Treasurer, B. Kharbithai and Publicity Secretary, H. Saikia (all from Department of Posts, Shillong GPO), General Secretary, Edward Lynshing (Meghalaya Co-Operative Apex Bank), Joint Secretary, Y. Sohtun,(M.E.S), L. Kharpuri, (Farmer’s Association,) P. Marwein, Shillong Municipal Board, organising Secretary, M. Kharshiing, (Meghalaya Printing Press, Adviser, Manash Das Gupta, and as many as 28 executive members. The vice president will be elected from Garo Hills
The first meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee discussed about the strategies to strengthen the organisation at the state and unit levels.
