SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills SP Davis R. Marak said on Saturday the Shillong Traffic Police is considered the best in the country.
The SP said the traffic personnel here regulate vehicles on narrow roads without help of technology.
“Vehicle density is increasing and traffic personnel are able to monitor traffic flow without using technology,” said the SP while addressing a gathering at Sadar Police Station.
Pernod Ricard, a company that makes distilled beverages, distributed raincoats among traffic guards at the programme.
Binoy Babu, regional sales manager of Pernod Ricard, said Meghalaya is a big market for the company. “We will look for more opportunities to come back and contribute to do all that we can in numerous ways,” he added.
