SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong of Chilliang Raij in Jowai has approached the deputy commissioner of West Jaintia Hills over the growing number of stray dogs in the area.
In a petition to the DC, A. Lanong, general secretary of Chilliang Raij, said the strays are creating trouble for the residents.
The letter said most of the dogs, which are seen in packs on the road after 10pm, are not vaccinated and are creating panic among children. It also mentioned that a few residents have been bitten in the last few weeks. Lanong complained that the dogs are littering residential compounds and urged the DC to tackle the menace.
