JOWAI: The youth, who was brutally assaulted by a group of men at Khliehriat, and whose video clips went viral in social media was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly assaulting and robbing a truck driver.
Batskhem Pala (18) was brutally beaten up at Khliehriat on May 13 after he was found stealing blanket, TV sets and music system of a student from a rented house.
Pala attacked the driver with a lever (tool) and ran away with Rs 4500 but he was soon picked up by the locals from Rymbai Road, Ladrymbai, who later handed him over to the police.
According to sources, Pala is not an orphan as reported earlier. He has a mother and 7 siblings. He is a resident of Sutnga Pohshnong.
