Brain research programme in NEHU

SHILLONG: The Department of Biomedical Engineering, North-Eastern Hill University, will organize the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) Associate School 2017 with the theme “Computational approaches in Neuroprotection and Neurorehabilitation” to foster research and training in the field of Neurosciences and Neurorehabilitation with focus on North-Eastern states of India and Asia Pacific region at large from June 5 to 10 . The IBRO School will be held for the first time in Northeastern part of the country. Biomedical Engineering is a fusion of Engineering and Medical Sciences and in this school, new exciting ideas and discussions are expected. The School on Computational approaches in Neuroprotection and Neurorehabilitation would create awareness among young researchers in the Asia Pacific region to carry out research activities as well as career option in the future so that they could offer better solutions on different neurodegenerative disorders. The total number of participants are 40 most of whom are from various universities and institutes in India and abroad, namely Iran, Nepal and Bangladesh. Dr. Sudip Paul, Assistant Professor of the concerned department is the Convener of this School. Prof. Andrew Lawrence from University of Melbourne, Australia will be the Chief Guest in inaugural session on June 5.
