SSLC topper feted; Conrad says proud to be here

TURA: Rahul Sen, the 2nd rank holder in this year’s SSLC examination along with other successful candidates including those of the HSSLC, were felicitated by Don Bosco Higher Secondary School on Tuesday.
The felicitation took place inside the school premises during the finals of the basket ball tournament which was organized as a part of the school’s Diamond Jubilee celebration.
Conrad K. Sangma, MP, attended the event as the chief guest along with Rev. Bishop Andrew R. Marak as the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion Conrad said that he felt proud to come back to the institution where his late father P.A. Sangma was once a student. Inviting the students to develop their sporting talents, he said he would try to promote sports and games in the state.
After the felicitation, the chief guest and guest of honour handed out the trophies, medals and certificates to the winners and runner ups of the basketball tournament. St Xavier’s Secondary School defeated Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in the girls’ category and in the boys’ category; Don Bosco Higher Secondary School defeated Tura Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School.
