Where’s the logic in protests, asks Kohli

SHILLONG: BJP leader Nalin Kohli has vouched for introduction of railways in Meghalaya saying it won’t lead to influx.
Asserting that there should be some logic behind the opposition to railways, Kohli said on Wednesday, “Is it that the railways will run only in one direction – from New Delhi to Shillong – and it will not go back to New Delhi? There should be some logic.”
Kohli said Meghalaya needs better connectivity “to realise its full potential”. He allayed fears by saying the land rules in the state do not allow outsiders from buying land.
Asked about the disturbed law and order in the State following violent protests against the railway project, Kohli said law and order is a state subject and if the government cannot take care of such issues, “it must take inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi and rotate a charkha”.
