SHILLONG: AICC general secretary and in charge of Meghalaya C.P Joshi said he would speak to party workers and the State leadership before taking a call on the suspension of Cabinet Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar who has been accused of indulging in anti-party activities.
Speaking to media persons here after reaching Shillong on Friday evening, Joshi said he cannot comment on the matter since he is yet to discuss it with the local leaders.
“Blocks and workers have expressed their feelings and we will interact and get a feedback and then I will answer your question,” he said.
Joshi is accompanied by Secretary in charge Vijay Laxmi Sadho. The duo will stay in the city till Sunday. The Congress’s central leader said it was their “duty to visit Meghalaya and get a feedback about party and government and give necessary guidance to the party in view of the elections”.
Joshi and Sadho met Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and MPCC chief D.D Lapang at Hotel Pinewood shortly after their arrival.
Urban Affairs Minister Ronnie V Lyngdoh, Health Minister Roshan Warjri and other Congress workers from different levels also met the two leaders.
