NONGPOH: Chief Adviser to the State Government D.D Lapang said on Monday if protests against the railways continue, then chances are that the project will be diverted to another state.
Addressing a gathering on Day 1 of the silver jubilee celebrations of Ri Bhoi district on Monday, Lapang said, “It is sad that few people are against the railway project.”
The State Congress chief urged the gathering to unite and allow this central project to go ahead as it would bring many benefits to the district as well as employment opportunities.
“This is a central project worth crores of rupees and if our people continue to oppose it, chances are that this project will be diverted to another state,” he added.
