NONGSTOIN: A group of prominent people and locals led by the president of the Shallang village defense party took out a peace rally on Wednesday. The rally follows several incidents of mob fury after rumours about fake injection kept locals on their toes.
Members of the VDP and its president P. Sangma, church leaders, KSU Maweit circle and Lyngngam Hynnengbrei were among hundreds of people who took part in the peace rally that started from Dasar.
It was decided that VDP will follow up the case where two persons from Dudnai are allegedly running an “injection drive” among students in Shallang.
Sangma apologised for the mob fury and attack on police and said people were misled.
