Ri Bhoi silver jubilee concludes

NONGPOH: The silver jubilee celebrations of Ri Bhoi district concluded on Friday.
In the first session of the closing ceremony at NSCA Mini Stadium Pahamsyiem, R.V Lyngdoh, minister in-charge of Urban Affairs, Arts and Culture, graced the occasion as chief guest and the local legislator of Umroi, Ngaitlang Dhar, was the guest of honour.
The second session was attended by Chief Minister Mukul Sangma as the chief guest and PHE Minister Prestone Tynsong as the guest of honour.
The programme was also attended by a host of dignitaries which include the Chief Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, D.D Lapang, local legislator of Umsning, Celestine Lyngdoh, former MLA Donbok Khymdeit, and Deputy Commissioner CP Gotmare, among others.
Traditional songs and dances performed by students of local schools marked the ceremony.
Prominent personalities in the district were felicitated.
The chief minister appreciated the efforts of the leaders instrumental in creating Ri Bhoi. He also spoke about the various developmental works being implemented by the Government from time to time.
